I am excited and honored to be presenting and keynoting at the 2023 Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC23) in Columbus, Ohio on February 14th through 16th.

I always look forward to an opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

In this session we will explore powerful Chromebook features including screen capture, screen recording, and screencasting, using the camera for photos, videos, and scanning documents, helpful keyboard shortcuts, managing multiple desks, extending your capabilities with Android apps, offline access for Drive, Gmail, and Calendar, built-in accessibility tools, and more!

  • Description: With billions of videos on YouTube it is a powerful tool for teaching and learning. But are you getting the most out of it? Supercharge your YouTube usage with loads of tips and tricks including picture in picture, keyboard shortcuts, managing and downloading captions, timestamps, synchronized note-taking tools, accessing public domain audio and sound clips, helpful extensions, converting videos, embedding videos, and more!

  • Description: Everyone knows about Google Docs, Gmail, Search, and other common Google tools. But there are also loads of smaller, lesser-known, but powerful tools that can be used for teaching and learning. Learn about 70+ hidden gems such as nGram, Trends, AutoDraw, Chrome Music Lab, Toontastic, Landlines, Meme Buddy, Reverse Image Search, Instant Search Cards, Semantris, Grasshopper, Art Palette, Timelapse, Data GIF Maker and more (List subject to change based on how cool and unknown the tools remain.)

  • Description: There are many Google tools, apps, extensions, and features available to assist all learners. In this session we take an in-depth hands-on look at a wide range of technology tools to assist any and all learners. These can include text-to-speech, speech-to-text, readability, reading comprehension, audio support, organization, focus, and more. Learn what tools are available and how to access and use these free tools with your students.

  • Description: Google Sheets can be a powerful way to analyze your students' data, look for patterns and trends, and identify student strengths and weaknesses. See what you can do to be the best educator you can be, and how your students can be the best learners they can be.



๐Ÿค˜ Doc Rocks! Engaging Activities with Google Docs
  • Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

  • Description: Google Docs is an awesome word processor, but it can be used for so much more! In this session we explore several engaging hands-on activities that use features built right into Google Docs. These include improving reading comprehension with Google Docs highlighting, creating black out poetry, writing interactive "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories, cloze reading activities with dropdown chips, summarization skills with the Word Count tool, creative ways to use Emojis in Docs, prewriting with embedded graphic organizers, and more!
