One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.

🚗 Common Sense Carpool Conversations

Have you ever looked for good ways to have discussions with students about digital literacy and wellness topics? Common Sense Media is here to help with their podcast series called "Carpool Conversations".

Each podcast episode is only a few minutes long and is designed to get students and adults thinking and talking using prompts like "Never have I ever…" or "Who's the most likely to…". The episodes address a wide range of topics from their research-backed Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum for schools, and are divided into playlist by age range including K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

In addition to the audio versions, there are also printable options that can be used anywhere.

⚙️ Most Likely Machine

Help your students demystify the "black box" of AI with Most Likely Machine, a free, award-winning digital literacy tool designed to help the 10–14 age group explore the ethics and social impact of automated decision-making.

In a gamified environment, students build algorithms to assign awards, such as "Most Likely to Go Viral", to historical figures like Albert Einstein and Rosa Parks. By selecting and weighting specific traits, students see firsthand how human assumptions and data choices can lead to algorithmic bias.

It’s a great tool for sparking classroom discussions on digital citizenship, media literacy, and the "why" behind the feeds they interact with daily. Best yet, it requires no login or installation.

🕹️ Padlet Arcade

Padlet recently launched their new Arcade feature and it is exciting! You can create a custom learning game in under a minute, share it with your students, and track their progress. Best of all, this is free! Here is how it works:
  • Go to the site at https://arcade.padlet.com/
  • Click the create a game and then do one of the following:
  • Enter a topic - Type in a learning objective or standard to create a game
  • Upload a file - Add a PDF, document, or file and transform it into a game
  • Add a link - Convert the content of a website or YouTube video into a game
  • Padlet will then suggest several options for the game for you to choose from.
  • Padlet will then create the game and give you a link and QR code to share with students (or anyone). Students do not need an account to play.
  • As students play the game you can track progress on the leader board to see who played, how they did, and who's in the lead.
Games can be made for any subject area and grade, and currently offer the following game types: Matching, Sorting, Sequencing, Multiple Choice, Memory Tiles, Fill in the Blank, and Flashcards.

Finally there are 100 pre-made games on the website that you can use as well, or just test out to see how different games work.

🐙 Kira

Let’s imagine … you’re planning tomorrow’s lesson.
  • You start with a standard aligned to argumentative writing for 9th grade ELA. Maybe students debate whether a hot dog is a sandwich. Why not?
  • A complete lesson is generated in minutes, each activity tagged with standards [ 👀 preview the lesson]
  • Then, students complete interactive assessments supported by an AI tutor.
  • ️You grade and give feedback all in the same place.
  • And if students struggle or need accommodations, that insight lives in their profile, so the next lesson you create is already tailored to them.
No imagination necessary. Kira 2.0 launches March 3.
March 3 | 10:00 AM Eastern - Register for the virtual launch
