My OETC 2016 Sessions

I am excited and honored to once again present at the Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC 2016) in Columbus this February 9th through 11th. I always look forward to this opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

Below is a list of sessions I will be presenting at OETC 2016, along with any associated resources. Please feel free to join me for any of these sessions. I look forward to sharing, learning, and chatting with you!

My Sessions:
  • Teaching Math with Google Drawings
    Wednesday Feb 10th - 11:00AM - Location: C210-212

    Description: Learn fun and creative ways to address Math Common Core Standards with Google Drawings. Topics include symmetry, angles, polygons, pictographs, line plots, area, fractions, algebra and more. The content will focus mainly on elementary and middle school level math, but the ideas can be applied to other grades and subjects as well.
  • FREd Talks
    Wednesday Feb 10th - Noon - Location: Main Stage
    Description: 5-minute talks by a variety of educators. I will be sharing "The 4 C’s of Education"
  • Apple vs Google Showdown
    Wednesday Feb 10th - 3:45PM - Location: E160-162
    Description: The battle has rumbled beneath the surface of the education community for years. Rumors have been heard of secret competitions late at night in abandoned warehouses. Stories have been passed down from generation to generation as a warning to children who don't eat their vegetables. Now the truth will be brought to light. Four Apple Distinguished Educators and four Google Certified Innovators will enter the arena, but only one team will return victorious in this game-show style battle royale. Watch the teams compete to show master of their own ecosystems, educational pedagogy, and the practical application of Apple and Google tools in the creation of content.
  • Google User Group of Ohio (GEG Ohio) Meetup
    Thursday Feb 11th - 8:00AM - Location: E160-162
    Join us to meet other Google-using educators, share ideas, learn something new, and win Googley prizes!
  • Google Tools for a Complete Video PD Solution
    Thursday Feb 11th - 11:00AM - Location: C213-215

    Description: At SPARCC we offer weekly EdTech webinars which have been viewed by thousands of educators. Learn how we are using Google tools to create a free, complete video PD system, and how you can too. Tools include Hangouts for the webinars; YouTube for archiving the videos; Forms for registration, evaluation, and post-assessments; Add-ons for mail-merge notifications and auto-generated certificates of completion; Docs for live Q&A; Sites to organize all the session resources; and more.
  • Google Zone
    Tuesday Feb 9th through Thursday Feb 11th - Location: In front of ‘D Hall’
    Stop by to learn more about Google and GEG Ohio, play with Expeditions, ask questions, and chat with Google EDU staff and Google Certified Trainers and Innovators from across Ohio.
