My 2018 IGNITE Conference Sessions

I am excited and honored to present at the 2018 IGNITE Conference in Lafayette, Indiana this June 6th and 7th!

I always look forward to opportunities to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

Below is a list of sessions I will be presenting at the IGNITE Conference, along with any associated resources. Please feel free to join me for any of these sessions. I look forward to sharing, learning, and chatting with you!

June 6th
  • Triple Differentiation with Google Classroom

    Description: Google Classroom is much more than just a way to distribute, collect, and organize student work. When used to the fullest, Classroom can be a powerful tool for differentiation for your students. In this session we will look at how to use Classroom features to differentiate at each stage of a project: beginning, middle, and end. We will cover who the students are, how the students learn, and what the students make. 
  • Supercharge Google Forms with Add-ons

    Description: Google Forms are already pretty awesome, but with free Add-Ons you can make them even awesome-er! Learn how to find, install, use, and manage Add-Ons for Forms including Form Values, formLimiter, docAppender, formRanger, AutoMastery, Certify'em, and more. 
  • Holy Sheets! Google Sheets Activities for any Subject

    Description: Google Sheets is not just a tool for crunching numbers. It is a powerful tool for learning, inquiry, exploration, and inspiration in any subject area. In this session we will take a look at several practical activities for a wide range of content areas including random writing prompts, flash cards, educational games, student-created learning databases, art and creativity, and of course analyzing data to draw conclusions and make predictions.  
  • Beyond the Slideshow: Google Slides Activities for any Subject

    Description: We all know Google Slides is a great tool for making multimedia slideshows. But did you know it can also be used to make "Choose Your Own Adventure" style stories, interactive quizzes, online comic strips, storybooks, stop-motion animation, manipulatives, and more? With the ability to link to specific slides and go to different slides depending on the choice, students can create online interactive stories. And with the many graphics tools in Google Slides, students can create online comic strips and tell stories, express understanding of content, give reports, and be creative. Learn how students can use Google Slides to express themselves in more ways than just a presentation. 
  • Hipster Google: Tools You Probably Never Heard Of

    Description: Everyone knows about Google Docs, Gmail, Search, and other common Google tools. But there are also loads of smaller, lesser-known, but powerful tools. Learn about hidden gems such as nGram, Trends, Web Fonts, AutoDraw, Tour Builder, Toontastic, Canned Responses, Smarty Pins, Poly, Office Editing, Reverse Image Search, Instant Search Cards, Mystery Animal, Science Journal, and more (List subject to change based on how cool and unknown the tools remain.)

  • Applied Digital Skills - Google's Free Tech Skills Curriculum for all Subjects

    Description: Do students have the skills they need to get a job and succeed in life when they graduate? Have they mastered the 4 C's (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity)? One way to help prepare students is with Google's free Applied Digital Skills curriculum. This program is made of self-paced, video-based, engaging, hands-on projects that combine tech, job, and life skills. Learn how middle and high schools can use this curriculum in any subject area to engage students and extend their learning.
