My 2018 ITIP Google Summit Sessions

I am excited and honored to once again present at the 2018 ITIP Ohio Summit Featuring Google for Education in Columbus this May 14th and 15th.

I always look forward to this opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

Below is a list of sessions I will be presenting at the ITIP Google Summit, along with any associated resources. Please feel free to join me for any of these sessions. I look forward to sharing, learning, and chatting with you!

My Sessions:

  • Super Screencastify Activities for Students and Teachers
    5/14 - 1:00PM - Location: Great Hall 3
    Session resources: ControlAltAchieve.com/screencast
Description: It has never been easier than now for students and teachers to create their own videos. Screencastify is a free Google Chrome web extension that lets you or your students record your computer screen, voice, and webcam. The recorded video can then be saved easily to Drive, shared with others, or downloaded. Learn how to install and use this tool, and then explore ways this can be used in schools including instructional videos, student projects, personalized teacher feedback, narrating slideshows, giving speeches, dubbing videos, explaining solutions, and much more.

  • Panel: What you didn’t know you could do as an Admin with Google & Chromebooks
    5/14 - 3:00pm - Location: Senate Chamber
    Session resources: ControlAltAchieve.com/admin

  • Supercharge Google Docs with Drawings
    5/15 - 10:00AM - Location: Cartoon 2
    Session resources: ControlAltAchieve.com/docsdrawings
Description: You can't do that in Docs! If you have ever made this claim, you may not be taking advantage of everything Docs can do. Built into Docs is Google Drawings, a tool that can add more features and make Docs more interactive. See how you and your students can use the integrated Drawings option in Docs to add playable videos, insert text boxes, add captions to images, embed graphic organizers, add interactive activities, provide a whiteboard area for student work, and more.

  • Google Classroom: Amazing Mobile Features
    5/15 - 12:45PM - Location: Cartoon 1
    Session resources: ControlAltAchieve.com/mobileclassroom
Description: Google Classroom is a great tool for managing class assignments, collaboration, discussions and more. However, if you are only using the normal web version, you are missing out on many special features. Students and teachers can also run Classroom as a mobile app on phones, tablets, and modern Chromebooks. The mobile version adds several additional tools such as handwritten annotations, the option to take and insert images and videos, share content from other mobile apps in Classroom, push notifications, and more. See how you and your students can take Classroom to the next level with mobile!

  • GEG Ohio Booth
    5/14 and 5/15 - Location: Vendor area - bit.ly/gegohio
Stop by to learn more about Google and GEG Ohio, ask questions, and chat with Google EDU staff and Google Certified Trainers and Innovators from across Ohio.
