My Technovation22 Sessions

I am excited and honored to be presenting at Technovation22 hosted by Caldwell County Schools in Lenoir, North Carolina on August 10th!

I always look forward to an opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

Making and Taking Tours with Google Earth
  • Time: 8:30am - 9:20am

  • Description: Google Earth isn't just for viewing our wonderful world, but can also be used for you and your students to create educational tours. With the Voyager tool you can explore hundreds of pre-made tours and activities. With the Project tool you can create your own tours by plotting points on the globe to make a 3D geographic tour of a story, historical event, interesting locations, or any concept you are exploring in class. Each location can include additional text, images, videos, links, and more. Learn how you and your students can create, collaborate, and share these Google Earth tours! 


YouTube Can Do That?!

  • Description: With billions of videos on YouTube it is a powerful tool for teaching and learning. But are you getting the most out of it? Supercharge your YouTube usage with loads of tips and tricks including picture in picture, keyboard shortcuts, managing and downloading captions, timestamps, synchronized note-taking tools, accessing public domain audio and sound clips, helpful extensions, converting videos, embedding videos, and more! 


Keynote - The Big Blank Wall

  • Description: The world is changing and our classrooms need to change as well. What skills do our students need to be successful in their future? And how do we as educators embrace this change? Take a trip with Eric back to his first classroom to learn about the difference between "Process" and "Purpose", to see what the future holds for our students, and explore the 4 C's we need to teach our students to prepare them for what is ahead.


Google Drawings for Graphic Organizers
  • Time: 2:00pm - 2:50pm

  • Description: Graphic organizers are a powerful learning tool for students. With mind maps, concept webs, Venn diagrams, and more, students can express their knowledge, plan their projects, and explore their content. There are many tools available to create graphic organizers and Google Drawings is a great free option. Learn how students can use Google Drawings to create graphic organizers, use existing templates, collaborate with others, and share the final product.
