Each week I keep an eye out for the latest edtech resources through blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, user groups, and more. I then try to reshare these resources in many ways.
One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.

🧑🚀 "When I Grow Up" - Gemini Image Prompt
With Google's new "Nano-Banana" image editor in Gemini, I wanted to try out an example for schools, so I put together a "When I Grow Up" prompt. The main idea is you take a student's photo and then modify it with Gemini to show that student in their dream career. This is a fun way for students to learn about careers and envision a positive future for themselves. And this is school-safe with Gemini's built-in data privacy protection. You can copy and use the prompt, as well as watch a 10-minute demo video, in my blog post.
🎧 AI Deep Dive with the Digitize Fully Charged Podcast
I recently had the pleasure to be a guest on the Digitize Fully Charged Podcast where we had a deep dive conversation on AI including:
- ➡️ Getting started with AI
- 🤝 AI as your assistant
- 💡 Creative classroom uses
- 🛡️ Data privacy issues
- 🚨 Concerns of bias & inaccuracies
Thanks so much to Pam and Niall for having me on, and be sure to check it out!
For an easy way to catch up on everything new in Google for Education from the summer, check out the recorded video, detailed agenda, and all the links from the GEG-Ohio August 2025 Meeting. As usual we shared lots of news, updates, helpful ideas and resources for schools. What is your favorite update?
🎲 We Are Teachers Games
The website "We Are Teachers" provides loads of classroom ideas, articles, and resources to support educators. But it also has a page of interactive, educational games for students. At the moment their games pages has three main options to choose from:
- Word Lab - This is their version of a Wordle-type game where each day there are new words for students to figure out. One difference is that there are three options including a three, five, or seven letter challenge.
- Brain Dash - This is a timed challenge where the students try to answer as many questions correctly as possible in one minute. There are 16 different categories to choose from including math skills, geography, science facts, and more.
- Animal Shelter - The final game is a simulation-style activity where students learn about artificial intelligence as they try to determine how it could help them find good homes for the pets in an animal shelter.

🌙 Alphabet Moon
The Alphabet Moon Project is a fun website that lets you see your name, or any word, written in the Moon’s natural features. Just type in your word and images from the Moon's surface will display for each letter. For letters that have multiple image options, you can click a down-arrow and pick the Moon image you want to use.
Besides just creating a word out of Moon images, the site also teaches about the Moon. Below each Moon image there is a paragraph of information that reveals fascinating science about how that part of the lunar surface was formed. And below that there is a map of the Moon with a circle to indicate where the image is from. Clicking on a map will take you to a detailed map of the Moon where you can zoom out and explore that area.
Finally you can click the "Save Image" button to download a copy of your word made out of Moon pictures. You have the option to include the descriptions and maps as well.

🦅 Mission US
Mission US is a collection of free, interactive US history simulations that were developed for Middle Schools students (but could be used by younger and older students as well.) Each interactive narrative game puts students in the shoes of young people during transformational moments in the nation's past.
Eras covered include early encounters, the American Revolution, westward expansion, the immigrant experience, the great depression, World War II, the civil right movement, and the antebellum era. Each simulation takes around 1 to 2 hours to complete.
The teacher guides contain links to preview or play the mission, document-based activities, reflection questions, curriculum overviews, implementation guides, standards alignments, webinars, information on historical events, characters, myths, misconceptions, and further context, and additional support materials.
