EdTech Links - Week of 2-16-2026

Each week I keep an eye out for the latest edtech resources through blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, user groups, and more. I then try to reshare these resources in many ways.

One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.

If you want to make sure you don't miss new resources, you can:

🔠 Brisk now exports to Kahoot

Anyone who knows me, knows that Brisk is one of my favorite AI tools for schools as I have shared many ways (see my Brisk deep dive and my Brisk Boost demo). Well now Brisk is even better with a new integration with Kahoot, allowing you to generate a ready-to-play quiz from any resource in seconds.

Simply open your desired web resource, click on the Brisk extension, and select "Create" followed by "Quiz." The big difference is you need to select "Kahoot" instead of "Google Form" in the output drop-down menu. You can still attach specific learning standards and adjust the number of questions to fit your lesson needs.

Once you click "Brisk it," the AI generates the questions directly inside your logged-in Kahoot account. There is no need to copy and paste. You can review and edit the questions, click "Save," and immediately select "Host Live" to engage your students with a quick, gamified formative assessment.

🕹️ 8-Bit Academy

If you miss the days of blowing into game cartridges (my first game console was an Atari 2600), 8-Bit Academy is for you, and more importantly your students. This site has games for K-6 students covering math, reading, social studies, science, typing, and more.

There are no logins, subscriptions, or setups. Students just click and play. Whether they are navigating dungeons to learn coordinates or playing arcade-style math games, the "fun" factor is front and center. It’s a perfect, low-friction option for early finishers or centers that provides a little fun while reinforcing skills.

📑 Text Readability Analyzer

Chris Spackman provides many ESOL resources through his website at chrisspackman.com. One of his resources I came across recently is his Text Readability Analyzer. Although it has some features specifically for supporting English Language Learners, this tool can be valuable for all students.

Basically you paste in your text or import it as a PDF. You can also select a language if you want to identify cognates between English and that language from the text. The site then analyzes your text and provides a wide range of detailed results including:
  • Multi-Dimensional Readability Scores
  • Proficiency-Based Scaffolding Strategies
  • Linguistic Complexity Identifiers
  • Cognates (words that look and sound similar across languages and share the same meaning)
  • And more

🐙 Kira

Teachers are juggling more tools than ever... Planning in one tool... Assessments in another... Grading somewhere else... Student data… scattered.

Kira connects all of it.

On March 3, Kira 2.0 goes live. Tune in for a full walkthrough of how lessons, assessments, grading, and student mastery work together to support personalized instruction.
At FETC and TCEA, teachers got a preview of Kira 2.0. And the reactions? Minds. Blown. Join Kira live on March 3 to see it in action.
