For those not familiar with the tool, Google Tour Builder allows you and your students to create virtual tours on a map, including locations, images, videos, descriptions, hyperlinks, and more. These tours can be used in any subject area such as retelling the events from a novel, tracing the locations of a historical event, visiting different biomes or landforms around the world, and more. Tours can be viewed by others in Tour Builder, or even imported into Google Earth for a full 3D experience.
See below for my 1-hour video training webinar on "Google Tour Builder for any Subject". In addition you will find links to all of the resources mentioned in the video.

I am having a deuce of a time trying to link in a custom map icon. I have created one in Drawings. I downloaded as a .png file. I am trying to figure out where to store the file so I can upload it to TourBuilder and then in Earth. I put it in Sites but the link does not end in .png and the image gets lost in Earth. Have you found a solution?
ReplyDeleteUpdate: It looks like the .png extension shows if the image is put into a blogger post. Once published right click on the image and copy image address.
ReplyDeleteI put together a brief how to guide on the map icon if you are interested. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1zh2bWMRvN61_Lg72-H_TEQhoAA8uJnm6I5_Dk3cJtcI/edit?usp=sharing
