Join me for the 2023 ITIP Ohio Google Summit

I am so excited and honored to be selected as the keynote presenter for the 2023 ITIP Ohio Google Summit!

This is the 13th annual conference and I have had the pleasure to attend, present, and learn with amazing educators every year it has been held. 

It will be a unique privilege to get to provide the keynote this year, along with many breakout sessions.

⛰️ 2023 ITIP Ohio Google Summit

  • Conference location: Kalahari Convention Center in Sandusky
  • This year the conference will be held May 16 - 17, 2023 with a pre-conference event on May 15th.
  • Presenters and attendees have the option to participate live in-person or virtually with on-demand sessions.
  • This year will also include an "Advanced Googlers" strand with sessions that spotlight advanced functions of Google tools and allow presenters to focus on new and/or high-level features & practices.

▶️ YouTube Can Do That?!
  • Pre-Conference Session
  • Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Description: With billions of videos on YouTube it is a powerful tool for teaching and learning. But are you getting the most out of it? Supercharge your YouTube usage with loads of tips and tricks including picture in picture, keyboard shortcuts, managing and downloading captions, timestamps, synchronized note-taking tools, accessing public domain audio and sound clips, helpful extensions, converting videos, embedding videos, and more!

👉 Poke a Stick at It: Being a Lifelong EdTech Learner
  • Keynote presentation
  • Time: 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM
  • Location: Kilimanjaro Ballroom
  • Description: What do you do when you don’t know how to do something? How we answer that will greatly affect how we teach and how our students learn. In this session we will explore what it means to "Poke a stick at it", share our own experiences, and gain lots of resources for becoming a life-long EdTech learner.



🧩 Excellent Extensions for Chrome
  • Concurrent Session
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
  • Location: Orange

  • Description: Web extensions provide extra features, tools, and options for the Chrome browser. Learn how to find, install, and use extensions from the Chrome Web Store, and then explore over 150 recommendations. Hands-on demonstrations will be done for selected extensions, from tried and true tools to my newest discoveries.



🤖 The Bard's Tale: AI Tools in Education
  • Concurrent Session
  • Time: 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
  • Location: Orange

  • Description: Google is a leader when it comes to creating and using artificial intelligence in practical ways. Over the years they have integrated machine learning into more and more products. In this session we will explore a wide range of Google tools that are already incorporating AI, see how they could be used by teachers and students, and discuss the benefits and challenges of AI in education.



🚀 Beyond the Slideshow: Google Slides Activities for all Subjects
  • Deep Dive Session
  • Time: 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Location: Orange

  • Description: We all know Google Slides is a great tool for making multimedia slideshows. But did you know it can also be used to make "Choose Your Own Adventure" style stories, interactive quizzes, online comic strips, storybooks, stop-motion animation, manipulatives, class soundboards, formative feedback in class, peer editing activities, and more? In this session we will explore these and more non-traditional uses of Slides. Learn how students can use Google Slides to express themselves in more ways than just a presentation.



🎞️ Google Screencast for Teaching and Learning

  • Description: Google's new Screencast tool for Chromebooks lets teachers and students record their screen, webcam, voice and annotations, and makes an interactive transcript that can be searched and translated! Learn how to use all the features of this awesome new tool, and explore how you and your students can use it for creative learning activities including instructional videos, student assessments, student projects, personalized teacher feedback, narrating slideshows, giving speeches, dubbing videos, explaining solutions, and much more.
