Each week I keep an eye out for the latest edtech resources through blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, user groups, and more. I then try to reshare these resources in many ways.
One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.
If you want to make sure you don't miss new resources, you can:

This week I have 4 resources from around the Internet and 3 resources from my blog.
💨 Brisk Teaching
Brisk Teaching is another one of my favorite AI tools for education, which I shared about in my earlier blog post and demo video. I often call it the Swiss Army Knife of AI tools because of how many things it can do.
One of those things it can do is create curriculum resources:
- Start with content from an article, Google Doc, YouTube video, or more.
- Use Brisk Teaching to create a Google Forms quiz, Google Slides presentation, rubric, lesson plan, DOK questions, translation, exemplar, and more!
- It can also assist with administrative tasks such as emails, newsletters, recommendation letters, and more.
- The free version offers more than 20 tools, and the premium version has even more.
Learn more and install the extension at briskteaching.com or get 3 months of the premium version for free at brisk-teaching.com/curts
🥋 Karate Math Dojo
- Karate Math Dojo is a free game to help K-5 students learn and practice math facts and arithmetic, using a mix of math problems and video game action.
- Math skills covered include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- The game can be played on the web or as an iOS app.
- The free version does have limits on how much you can play in one day, but does let you play the entire game over time.
- Vocab Scrabble is a free online game that can be used to help practice spelling and vocabulary skills.
- The AI will give you a set of letters (similar to a rack of tiles in Scrabble).
- You have 60 seconds to form a word from the letters you have been given.
- The longer the word the better, as each letter is worth 5 points.
- After providing a valid word you will get a new set of letters to work with.
- The entire game lasts 5 minutes, so you want to see how many words you can spell in that time.
🎧 AI for Humans
It seems like there is something new with AI everyday, and I try my best to stay up to date with all the new AI tools, features, updates, concerns, and more. In many of my AI PD sessions I have been asked how to stay informed about artificial intelligence.
Although I rely on many helpful sources, one of my favorites is a podcast called "AI for Humans". This is a fun and informative hour-long weekly podcast hosted by Gavin Purcell and Kevin Pereira. They cover everything new in AI from that last week, and I always pick up new ideas and a better undertanding.
Podcasts work well for me because I am often on the go, so I can listen while driving or doing yard work or on a plane trying to get to my next PD training. If the same is true for you, I would encourage you to try out an episode of "AI for Humans". And of course I would love to hear your recommendations for good ways to keep learning about AI. Please email me with your recommendations!
🧒 Learn your New Students with Google Slides
With the start of a new school year, one of the first things every teacher wants to do each year is memorize their students faces and names. To help out with this I updated a Google Slides template I made several years ago. With this template your students can add their picture, name, and details about themselves. You can then practice learning them by using the animations in the slideshow to first reveal their pictures and then their names and details. You can get all the detailed directions and your own copy of the template at the link above.
🏫 Texthelp Back to School Virtual Conference
I am excited and honored to be a part of the Texthelp "Back to School Blockbuster" virtual conference on September 18th and 19th. I will be joining many amazing speakers, and will be presenting a session on AI in education. This virtual conference is completely free and the recordings from the sessions will be available through November. Get all the details and free registration at the link above.
🅰️ 15 New Favorite Google Fonts
I have always been fascinated with fonts, so I especially love Google Fonts where you can choose from over 1,700 fonts to use in your Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drawings, and more. Recently I was exploring the latest additions and chose 15 of my favorite new fonts. See the link above to review these 15 awesome fonts and see which ones you and your students may want to use for projects this year.
