As a previous math teacher, the Equatio extension for Chrome has long been my recommendation for the easiest way to add math symbols and content to Google Docs, Slides, Forms and more.
I have often shared about Equatio in training sessions and blog posts. For example, you can learn more about the basics of this tool in my earlier post "Equatio: Yes You Can Type Math and Science in Google Docs and Forms!"
Well recently Equatio got a new way to create, add, and edit math content… the Equatio Whiteboard tool.
This new tool makes it easier than ever to create and insert math content into Google tools, such as shapes, lines, freehand drawings, text, and even embedded YouTube videos.
To help share about this update I recorded a short demo video going through the basics. See below for the video and details about this new feature. And a big thanks to Texthelp for sponsoring this post!

📋 Directions
If you don't have Equatio yet, you can install it from the Chrome Web Store. Clicking on the extension will then open the Equatio toolbar in Docs, Slides, Forms, and such.
Right from the Equatio toolbar you can now click on and open the new whiteboard.
This will open the Whiteboard window with a toolbar across the top.
From the toolbar you can add shapes, arrows, lines, free-hand drawings, and text. You can even embed YouTube videos to put instructional content right on the canvas.
You also have access to the full shapes library with all of Equatio's math content. Simply click on the "Shapes" menu in the top right corner to select and insert the content.
And of course you can customize anything you add to the whiteboard, including line color, fill color, stroke width and style, and more.
When done you can insert the whiteboard right back into your document or slideshow or such. Simply click the "Insert Whiteboard" button in the bottom right corner.
This tool will make it easier than ever for a teacher to create math content to add to their instructional materials.
Or for students to explain their understanding.
The whiteboard can also be reopened and edited, providing students with an interactive math activity built right into their Google Docs.
