My 2024 ITIP Ohio Google Summit Sessions

I am excited and honored to once again be presenting at the ITIP Ohio Google Summit at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Sandusky, Ohio this October 28th and 29th, 2024. This year the conference is hybrid, with an in-person or virtual registration option.

I always look forward to an opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

๐Ÿงฉ Excellent Extensions for Chrome

  • Description: Web extensions provide extra features, tools, and options for the Chrome browser. Learn how to find, install, and use extensions from the Chrome Web Store, and then explore over 150 recommendations. Hands-on demonstrations will be done for selected extensions, from tried and true tools to my newest discoveries.



 The "Gem in AI" - Google AI Tools for Education

  • Description: Google has long been a leader when it comes to creating and using artificial intelligence in practical ways. In this session we will explore a wide range of Google tools that incorporate generative AI including Google Gemini, NotebookLM, Search Generative Experience, integrations in Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, Search, Classroom and more! See how these tools can be used by teachers and students.

๐Ÿ•ต️ Managing AI Cheating with Google Tools

  • Description: As beneficial as AI is, it also comes with challenges and the potential for misuse. In this session we will explore ways to address academic integrity concerns such as students cheating by using AI to write for them. We will explore Google tools and extensions that can help monitor the writing process to see what work students have done themselves. We will also discuss practical approaches and assignment adjustments to help reduce AI cheating.

  • Description: Don't know Python from Perl? Is HTML all IDK to you? Do you think JavaScript is the handwriting on your Starbucks cup? Even if you have never written a line of code in your life, you can with AI! In this session we will see how to use Gemini to create code that you can use in Google Docs, Sheets, and Sites for learning games, simulations, activities, supports, time-savers, productivity helpers, and more.
