Each week I keep an eye out for the latest edtech resources through blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, user groups, and more. I then try to reshare these resources in many ways.
One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.
If you want to make sure you don't miss new resources, you can:

This week I have 4 resources from around the Internet and 3 resources from my blog.
🚀 Boost Student Learning with Brisk Teaching
Recently I had the pleasure to present a booth session at FETC on how to use Brisk Teaching to create AI Boost activities for students. If you are not familiar with the student end of Brisk, here are the basics:
- Educators can create school-safe student-friendly "Boost" activities with customized AI chatbots that students can interact with.
- These can include chatbots for tutoring, chatting with a character, debating, brainstorming, exit tickets and more.
- And Brisk records everything typed by the student and the AI so you can review it and learn how best to support your learners.
The session was recorded so you can view the entire 25-minute video and access all the resources at the link above.
📰 What's New in Google - January 2025
For an easy way to catch up on everything new in Google for Education from the last month, check out the recorded video, detailed agenda, and all the links from the GEG-Ohio January 2025 Meeting. As usual we shared lots of news, updates, helpful ideas and resources for schools. What is your favorite update?
With Valentine's Day coming up, here is a collection of some of my Valentine-related Google activities for students to practice writing, math, and creativity:
- 📊 Hearts and Charts Google Sheets Math Activities
- 😍 Valentine Emoji Rebus Stories in Google Docs
- 🧲 Valentine Magnetic Poetry with Google Drawings
- 💌 Valentine Cards with Google Drawings
You can get copies of all the templates, as well as detailed directions for use at the link above.
🔷 The Daily SET Puzzle
- SET is a classic card game where you are trying to find sets of 3 cards that meet certain criteria.
- Each day there is a new interactive SET game posted to the site, where the goal is to find all 6 SETs in the 12 cards displayed.
- This can be a great way to get students thinking as they come into class, or as a change-of-pace break, or for students to work on during free time.
- For directions on how to play here is a 7-minute video and a 2-page document.

🔠 Spokabulary
- Spokabulary is a free site to create custom spelling and vocabulary games from your own word lists.
- There is no sign-in for teachers or students so anyone can use the site with no need to log in or provide any personal information.
- To begin you provide at least three words, although you can provide as many as you want.
- The AI then tries to guess the category for your words, which you can select or type in your own category.
- Then based on the category, the AI will generate additional words as needed, along with sentences using each word in context.
- You can edit the words or sentences if you want, and then click the "Publish" button to get a link to give your students.
- When the students click the link they can play six different games to practice the words, meanings, and spellings.
- The games include Out Of Order, Bubble Bounce, Speak and Spell Challenge, Scrambled Words, Zen Typing Garden and Wurdle-Shuffle.
- Here is a sample link to try out some games based on my "Landforms Vocabulary" list.

🐶 Corgi
- Corgi is a completely free tool that is designed to support the learning of all middle and high school students through Corgi Guides.
- Corgi Guides are interactive, collaborative graphic organizers that support developing higher-order thinking skills.
- The 4 graphic organizer types include Cause & Effect Guide, Question Exploration Guide, Comparison Guide, and Claim, Evidence, Reasoning Guide.
- While students work through a guide they explore a topic guided by an essential question, organize information in the guide, dig deep into the information and make sense of the learning, and share their learning through a variety of output options.
- The guides embed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to reduce barriers and increase access for all learners.
- Corgi also includes an ever growing library of community sourced units and lessons for educators to use and adapt.
🔊 Mote update - Read Aloud
As many of you know, I’ve been a fan of Mote since they launched in 2020, and I’ve loved seeing how the Mote Chrome Extension has evolved to bring voice and audio features to Google Workspace.
So I’m very happy to share Mote’s latest feature, Read Aloud, which is a modern text-to-speech experience designed for K12 students.
I’ve been playing with Mote Read Aloud since it launched, and so far my favorite features are:
- It’s got natural, human-like voices, powered by the latest AI models
- It works on any website, but is designed especially for Google apps like Docs, Slides, Classroom and Forms
- It can even read text embedded in images
- Students can customize Read Aloud with diverse voices and playback speeds
Mote Read Aloud is a premium feature, however it’s currently free for anyone to try out. If you’re an existing Mote user, you can unlock a free trial by watching a video about the new Mote 2.0 features here. Or, if you’re new to Mote you can unlock an extended free trial by using my referral link here.
