Give Your Students a Voice - Be An Author Month 2025

This blog post is sponsored by Book Creator, but all opinions are mine.

Book Creator has long been one of my favorite EdTech tools, providing students with both the inspiration and the tools to tell stories, share their ideas, and let their voices be heard.

I have often shared about Book Creator, including how this tool can be used to help students write and illustrate their stories. For more details on that, see my earlier blog post and tutorial video here - "Book Creator Pen Tools - Let Your Inner Illustrator Come Alive!"

Well March is "Be An Author Month" and Book Creator is helping to celebrate it through activities, webinars, templates, and a personal narrative competition for all students.

Writing is a passion of mine, including this blog, my "Control Alt Achieve" book, my poetry for kids, my essays on wellbeing, and more. I am so excited for resources that support and inspire students to write.

See below for all the details on how you can access these free resources and engage your students in the writing activities.

📅 About Be An Author Month

Be An Author Month is an annual celebration held every March, dedicated to empowering students to embrace their creativity, articulate their thoughts, and harness the strength of their voices through storytelling and digital publishing. Hosted by Book Creator, this initiative highlights the importance of student narratives and literacy, transforming classrooms into hubs of creativity and self-expression.

✍️ Why 'Be An Author' Matters

Every student has a story worth telling. Writing and publishing a book can boost confidence, improve literacy skills, and encourage self-expression. Book Creator was originally developed in 2010 by Dan Amos to support his son with dyslexia, and it has since evolved into a globally recognized platform empowering millions of students to share their voices through multimodal storytelling.

📖 2025 Theme: "Tell Your Story"

This year’s theme, Tell Your Story, encourages students to explore their unique narratives, share their perspectives, and celebrate the power of personal storytelling. Through writing, images, and other multimedia, students will engage in the creative process to produce meaningful content that reflects their identities and experiences.
