The key to making a Jeopardy game is to use the "Link" tool in Google Slides. Normally a slideshow is designed to be viewed sequentially, one slide followed by the next in order. However, Google Slides allows you to put links in slides that can link to any other slide in the presentation, regardless of order. By using links to other slides, a presentation can be created that is non-linear, in which the user can choose which slides to view.
Using this technique I created two Jeopardy Game Templates. One has five categories and the other has six categories. In each template all the items are already hyperlinked, so all you have to do is make a copy of the slideshow and then add your questions, answers, and topic descriptions.
The only drawback is that the category links do not change color after you click on them. Currently Google Slides does not have an option to indicate a link has already been clicked on, but hopefully they will add that option in the future. In the meantime you will need to keep track of which categories have been used on paper or some other method.
Templates
You can open the Jeopardy Game Templates with the links below. Note: The templates are view only, so you will have to make your own copy to be able to edit them. Simply click “File” then “Make a copy”

ReplyDeletecan you save your questions to your google drive?
ReplyDeleteThese are great templates! My question is, how do students know which questions have already been asked/answered? If Question 1 in Topic 1 has already been answered, how will the students know not to choose that one again?
ReplyDeleteI was researching the same question. Eric answers this in the first part of the video and unfortunately it is not possible in this version of google slides. You could possibly try some other template, or use a paper version to keep track!
DeleteGreat stuff indeed
ReplyDeleteMy question is: If one dose not want to make their own interactive game can they get one from a different site and embed it into the presentation that they already have done??
ReplyDeleteThe artists will work to illustrate and animate the imagery from the game with their own specific style set. Those interested in becoming artists will need degrees in illustration and 3d animation from an accredited art school, but being a game dev tester can definitely help in getting started in the industry.
