My 2017 ITIP Google Summit Sessions

I am excited and honored to once again present at the 2017 ITIP Ohio Summit Featuring Google for Education in Sandusky this May 1st and 2nd.

I always look forward to this opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

Below is a list of sessions I will be presenting at the ITIP Google Summit, along with any associated resources. Please feel free to join me for any of these sessions. I look forward to sharing, learning, and chatting with you!

My Sessions:

  • Triple Differentiation with Google Classroom
    5/1 - 2:00PM - Location: Orange
    Session resources:
    Description: Google Classroom is much more than just a way to distribute, collect, and organize student work. When used to the fullest, Classroom can be a powerful tool for differentiation for your students. In this session we will look at how to use Classroom features to differentiate at each stage of a project: beginning, middle, and end. We will cover who the students are, how the students learn, and what the students make.

  • Google Slam

  • Hipster Google - Tools You Probably Never Heard Of
    5/2 - 9:00AM - Location: Nile
    Session resources:
    Description: Everyone knows about Google Docs, Gmail, Search, and other common Google tools. But there are also loads of smaller, lesser-known, but powerful tools. Learn about hidden gems such as nGram, Trends, Web Fonts, QuickDraw, Tour Builder, SpellUp, Toontastic, Canned Responses, Smarty Pins, Story Builder, Tone, Office Editing, Reverse Image Search, Instant Search Cards, and more (List subject to change based on how cool and unknown the tools remain.) 

  • Literacy Activities with Google Docs
    5/2 - 11:00AM - Location: Nile
    Session resources:
    Description: Looking for ways to techify your literacy activities? In this session we will explore several engaging hands-on literacy activities that use features built right into Google Docs. These will include improving reading comprehension with Google Docs "Black Out", writing interactive "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories in Docs, summarization skills with the Word Count tool, and fun ways to use Emojis in Docs for reading and writing.

    Stop by to learn more about Google and GEG Ohio, ask questions, and chat with Google EDU staff and Google Certified Trainers and Innovators from across Ohio.
