My ISTE 2025 Sessions

I am excited and honored to once again present at the 2025 ISTE Conference in San Antonio, Texas this June 28th through July 2nd.

I always look forward to this opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

🧰 The AI Toolbox: Best AI Tools for Schools

  • Description: ChatGPT and Gemini are wonderful, but what other AI tools are available? Thankfully there are many educational AI resources that build on top of these models with tools that are free, provide extra functionality and features, and make the process easier and more convenient for educators. In this session we will explore many of these tools such as MagicSchool AI, Khanmigo, TeacherServer, SchoolAI, QuestionWell, EnlightenAI, Snorkl, Diffit, NotebookLM, Brisk Teaching, Ideogram, Udio and more.

🧔‍♂️ Hipster Google - The Best Tools You Probably Never Heard Of
  • Time: 2:00pm - 3:00pm

  • Description: Everyone knows about Google Docs, Gmail, Search, and other common Google tools. But there are also loads of smaller, lesser-known, but powerful tools that can be used for teaching and learning. Learn about 70+ hidden gems such as Emoji Kitchen, Interview Warmup, Timelapse, Lens, AutoDraw,  ImageFX, MusicFX, VR/AR Models, Read Along, Semantris, GameSnacks, ChromeOS Flex, Teachable Machine, NotebookLM, Applied Digital Skills and more (List subject to change based on how cool and unknown the tools remain.)

🔋 AI & Edtech Power Hour: Turbocharged Tools for Every Subject and Grade
  • Time: 10:00-11:00am
  • Description: Discover transformative AI and Edtech tools across subjects and grade levels in this fast-paced, interactive panel. Led by educators known for sharing, we'll spotlight practical applications and innovative pedagogies to engage all learners. Leave with a toolkit of resources to energize your classroom and enhance student outcomes.




🤖 The Power of Personalized Learning: Custom AI Chatbots for Students
  • Time: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

  • Description: AI chatbots are a powerful way to provide safe, monitored, personalized learning experiences for students. Chatbots can be used for a wide range of engaging activities such as interviewing a historical figure, discussing a book, learning about a career, assessing understanding, providing tutoring, or diving into any topic. With AI these chatbots adjust to each student individually to meet their specific needs and interests. In this session we will explore traditional AI chatbots, as well as free tools such as SchoolAI, Mizou, Brisk, Fobizz, MagicSchoolAI and more, where you can choose from a wide range of pre-made chatbots or easily create your own.

🚦 Did AI Write This Essay? Managing AI Concerns in Schools
  • Time: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

  • Description: As beneficial as AI is, it also comes with challenges and the potential for misuse. In this session we will explore ways to address academic integrity concerns, tools and strategies to help monitor AI use, proper citation for AI generated content, ways to encourage positive use of AI in the classrooms, developing your own class set of AI guidelines for students, alternative assessment options, addressing AI bias and inaccuracies, student data privacy, identifying fake content, evaluating AI tools, and more.
