EdTech Links of the Week - 11-26-23

Each week I keep an eye out for the latest edtech resources through blogs, social media, podcasts, videos, user groups, and more. I then try to reshare these resources in many ways.

One way I share these is here on the blog in these "EdTech Links of the Week" posts. See below to explore the latest batch of resources, and be sure to share with others who may benefit.

If you want to make sure you don't miss new resources, you can:

And as always, please let me know of any resources that you recommend. I would love to learn from you!

This week I have 3 resources from around the Internet and 4 resources from my blog.

▶️ Recorded Video

🧙 Sorcerer
  • Sorcerer is an AI-powered tool that asks you questions about topics to see what you know and help you learn more.
  • Start by putting in a topic that you are learning about.
  • Sorcerer then asks questions to determine your knowledge and understanding.
  • Sorcerer provides help along the way if you get stuck or do not know the answers.
  • Sorcerer can be set to five levels of difficulty including middle school, high school, undergraduate, masters, and PhD.

🗣️ YouGlish
  • YouGlish is a free website that uses YouTube videos to teach you how to correctly pronounce words.
  • Simply type in the word or phrase you want to pronounce.
  • If needed, also choose a specific dialect in the language.
  • YouGlish will then find lots of videos with that being pronounced in natural context.
  • You can increase or decrease the playback speed as needed.
  • YouGlish supports  Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Sign Languages.

🔗 Connections Creator
  • Create your own interactive playable puzzle in the style of "Connections".
  • Add four sets of four words and the themes that connect each set.
  • Generate a link to share with others to play your puzzle.
  • Work in subject matter content for a fun way to review class content.
  • Try out my demo - Sample Puzzle

❄️ Cool Tools 2023
  • As we wrap up 2023 I will be sharing 24 of my favorite "Cool Tools" from this year, with one new entry per day from December 1st through 24th (sort of like an EdTech advent calendar).
  • For this year I am going with the theme of artificial intelligence tools and resources, since that has been the hot topic.
  • As I release each new entry, I will add a new link to a growing list in the post at https://bit.ly/cool-tools-23
  • Each tool will also appear as a separate entry on the blog.
  • And you can access each tool through my "Cool Tools 23" slideshow here - Google Slides link

🔄 Import your Jamboards into FigJam
  • With Google shutting down Jamboard, many people are exploring FigJam, the interactive whiteboarding tool from Figma which is free for educators and students.
  • Figma has now announced the launch of their import tool for Jamboard.
  • With this easy-to-use tool you can convert all of your existing Jams into FigJam files.
  • See the link above for details on this new tool, as well as a helpful 2-minute video on how it works.
