EdTech Cool Tool - Quizizz AI

This post is Day 8 of my "Cool Tools 2023" series where we are exploring some of the year's best tools for teaching and learning.

This year we are focusing on artificial intelligence tools and how they can be used in schools.

Quizizz has recently added AI features to its assessment platform. 
  • You can now use AI to easily create a quiz from a text, link, video, or file.
  • After creating the quiz, you can enhance the quiz with AI to fix grammar and errors, convert to real world scenarios, translate, add similar questions, simplify language, change voice & tone, and more. 


Here's how it works... Start by using AI to help create your quiz in one of three ways:

1) Text
  • With this option you can provide the AI with a topic, or a prompt, or an excerpt of text.
  • Note: There is a 10,000 character limit on the text.
  • You can then choose the "Grade" and the "Number of questions" from 5 to 15.


2) File
  • With this option you can upload a file from your device, or choose a file from your Google Drive.
  • The file format can include PDF, Word Doc, PowerPoint, and Google Drive files
  • Note: The file is limited to 10MB in size and 10 pages in length.
  • You can then choose the "Number of questions" from 5 to 15.


3) Link
  • With this option you can add any link from the web including website, online articles, and YouTube videos.
  • Note: The AI can only generate quizzes for videos that have a transcript.
  • You can then choose the "Number of questions" from 5 to 15.


When ready click "Generate Questions" and the AI will create your quiz from the content.


Now that you have the quiz, you can use AI to help improve the questions. For individual questions or for the entire quiz, you can choose AI enhancements such as:
  • Fix grammatical and spelling errors
  • Replace with similar question
  • Add similar questions
  • Add questions on a particular topic
  • Translate quiz into another language
  • Convert questions to real world scenario
  • Reduce options for multiple choice questions
  • Add answer explanation
  • Add a theme to topic
  • Add student names in the questions
  • Make all questions fun
  • Or create you own custom prompt
